by dorian hargrove, june 24, 2016. a san diego superior court judge has ordered the church of jehovah's witnesses, also known as the watchtower bible and tract society of pennsylvania, to pay $4000 a day for every day that it fails to produce documents requested in a civil lawsuit brought by former parishioner, osbaldo padron, who claims a church elder sexually abused him when he was seven years old.. in a june 23 ruling, expected to be made final today, judge richard strauss admonished the church for willfully ignoring a court order to produce all documents associated with a 1997 body of elders letter that church leaders sent to parishes around the world in a quest to learn about sexual abuse of children by church leaders.. over the course of the past year, the watchtower society and its lawyers have fought hard to keep the letter confidential, claiming that turning over the documents would infringe on the privacy of those mentioned in the letter that were not associated with the case.. in march 2015, the church turned over a heavily redacted version of the letter.

Is it just me ? 2 threads debating page after page with one individual ?
by smiddy inis it just me who doesnt see the point of this ?
from time to time we see some individual who takes up page after page arguing his or her point of view and it usually ends up with only 2 or 3 individuals who keep the talkfest going with a particular individual and nobodys getting anything out of it .. why bother ?
why get sucked in to such a pointless dialogue ?

I am rethinking my answer and you do make a good point a very good point steve2 about RO, I just got sucked in myself and I wasted a lot of brain cells for what. It is just the topic of child sexual abuse makes me crazy when someone tries to defend it.

Landy again with all due respect, if it is being realistic than I truly doubt that a law firm would go to such trouble to be just realistic on a "fishing expedition to see what it throws up". Their name is at stake along with all the counter lawsuits that the Watchtower is now, you can be sure hitting them with. This is not just some silly little law firm with time on their hands to see what fish they might catch. And yes I have gotten professional help that's why I can stand up for what I truly in my heart believe, before ones like you and Richard would have driven me back,. Thanks for asking though.

Richard see right there you just cannot let it go can you? Call the law firm! You just said "I think many people are going to be very disappointed but if that happens there is nothing I can do about that."
There is something you can do and it is not posting on this sight but calling the law firm since you are so sure that this is going to be a huge disappointment. You need to tell them not us.
You act like you are helpless but you have the phone number and you can STOP this so why are you coming back and back and back trying to convince us who can do nothing when you can CALL THE LAW FIRM!
See Richard this is why you are struggling you are talking to ones who cannot help you. Please call the law firm and talk to them.

You have been coming on this thread over and over and over and over trying to drive your point home in as many ways as you can to people who are not associated with the law firm that has clearly by your posts really upset you, to the point that you have spent an enormous amount of time and research trying to convince people, people who did not post the ads or have anything to do with placing the ads who are just merely talking about the ads and voicing their opinions in a way that you have very, very, very, clearly and strongly told us that you feel is not right.
I think everyone who has read your posts on this thread get it by now that you feel and to use your own words that this is a huge "uphill battle for these lawyers. They may win, but it won't be easy." "My only contention is that this is going to be extremely hard even if they win, it is not a slam dunk for future cases. People have to realize that." "But it is going to a long hard battle. People have to be ready for that. Even the Lopez case started in 2012 that is 5 years now and it is going it hasn't even gone to trial yet."
Those are just a few of your posts on this thread. I think everyone gets your point very clearly but to keep telling us over and over and over your view does you or anyone who reads your post any good now. We get what you mean but it is starting to come off like you are a little obsessed over this and you just cannot let it go or expect the fact that others may have a different view than you do.
Thus you are coming off like what Albert Einstein said. You really truly need to call the law firm instead of telling us. WE DID NOT PLACE THE AIDS! The law firm did for you to keep telling us every chance you get that this is really long shot after awhile makes you appear a little nutty, sorry.

I used to when I first started and I usually now just ignore them, they are just really a waste of my life, the saying those convinced against their will are of the same opinion still.
I do have to admit I just got into it with a poster who was trying to throw a wet blanket on the thread started by BoC about the law firm putting up the ad's. To me this is just really important and if this guy succeeds in scary people from even trying,which really appears to be his goal it just makes me crazy. The subject of the pedophiles is so close to me that for someone to try to stop it like he is coming off as doing makes me lose it. I do agree that it is just a huge waste of time to debate them.

Richard call them and tell them that. You are so sure of it, call them. Why are you telling us over and over and over how you feel, we can't do anything about your view anymore than you can about the ones you feel this will be a slam dunk, and that it will be easy wins.
All you have to do is call them instead debating everyone on here and telling them that they are wrong in being hopeful. Just call the law firm the number is listed. Why are you wasting your time and effort by telling us yet again how your strongly feel this is a very tough battle and that it will be very hard for them. Tell them that you are very worried to the point that you have spent hours on a web sight trying to convince other of this "What will be sad though is if they use some of their weaker cases and use that to build up their stronger ones. By putting their clients through the emotional toll and getting their hopes up, even though they don't have a lot of faith that a win could occur. Some firms do that especially if they think that a bigger payday is waiting for them in future, stronger cases. Not saying that they will do it, but if they do it will be very sad for those clients." Tell them that they have a tough hill to climb and that you seriously do not think it will work out and that you are very, worried.
Just call the law firm, tell them all that is clearly eating at you please quit telling us who can do nothing about it over and over and over. You really just need to call them, I am sure they will have someone that you can talk to tomorrow. You really need to take this to someone who can do something about it most of us can not do anything as we are not part of this law firm and telling us is doing no good.
I just beg of you to please quit trying to discourage us. Feel the way you do but please stop telling us.

I did call them today and they were very nice, I live on the west coast and the man I spoke to today was surprised to hear that we know about it already as they are only targeting the east coast, New York In particular. I just have to say that if you live in their area and have any info that they could use I encourage you to call. He was very nice but the laws in my state are not the same as what NY is and really there was nothing that I could add expect that I know we have pedophiles in my hall and that I have the police and court records of them.
He was very kind and thanked me for calling. I am just really hoping that this is truly the tip of the iceberg.

TV commercial seen in the United States, from a Law firm "Asking if you were ever sexually abused by JEHOVAHS WITNESSES, please call".

if it was, i do apologize, but i feel i have to mention what has been seen on tv, within the past 24 hours.. first off, i would like to say that i did not personally see this commercial.
however, it was seen by someone that i can verify 100% is telling the truth, as it was my own father who saw it.
